Notifications & settings

Notifications

Allot can push you a notification when a category goes overspent, a bill is due, a bill due soon still needs funding, a financing installment isn't covered, or a subscription's price changes. Turn them on per device and choose which alerts you want.

Turn on notifications

  1. Go to Settings and open the General tab.
  2. Find the Notifications section.
  3. Tap Enable notifications and allow the permission prompt.
  4. You'll see Notifications are on for this device. The section header now shows On.

Choose which alerts you get

Under the toggles, turn each alert type on or off (all are on by default):

  • Overspent categories - a category's available balance goes negative.
  • Bills due - a bill is due today.
  • Underfunded bills - a bill due today or tomorrow still needs money to cover it.
  • Financing installments - a card's financing installment is due and its payment envelope isn't covered yet.
  • Price changes - a subscription charged more (or less) than usual, so a price hike never slips past you.

On iPhone

iOS only allows web push once Allot is installed to your Home Screen. If you see a prompt to do so, tap the Share icon in Safari, then Add to Home Screen, and open Allot from the new icon before enabling notifications. See Troubleshooting & FAQ for the full install steps.

Turn them off

In the same Notifications section, tap Turn off on this device. You can re-enable any time.

Troubleshooting

“Notifications are blocked in your device settings”

You (or the browser) denied permission earlier. Re-enable notifications for Allot in your browser or system settings, then tap Enable notifications again.

“This browser doesn't support push notifications”

Some browsers can't receive web push. On iPhone, install Allot to your Home Screen first; on desktop, use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.

The test says “No devices are subscribed yet”

Enable notifications on this device first, then send the test.
